Set in a mother and baby home in 1964, with a classic 60s soundtrack, the story follows the fortunes of Mary, who at 19 is unmarried and pregnant. Forcibly sent to the home by a mother desperate to keep up appearances, Mary, a victim of the morality of the times, has to cope with the dawning realisation that she will have to give the baby up for adoption.
