At the beginning of the War, in the little village of Merton-cum-Middlewick, a Nazi invasion is expected any day. BUT war can't interfere with village gossip, and it may be that the vicar's actress wife is having an affair!
Throw in an escaped prisoner of war, a visiting bishop, an actor, some nosey neighbours and one or two disguises, and the resulting confusion provides an hilarious evening.
